Itinerary of Mekong Delta tour from Ho Chi Minh 2 days 1 night
Day 01 | Ho Chi Minh – Ben Tre – Can Tho
In the morning, our guide will pick you up at your accommodation in District 1.
Depart for Ben Tre province. On arrival, we will board a local big boat. You’ll then have your first look at the beauty of Ben Tre’s maze of waterways.
Visit a traditional brick kiln that produces bricks in the traditional way.
Then, you visit a coconut processing workshop nearby, where the locals process coconut into many different forms.
Weave through the spectacular water coconut canals to immerse yourself in a magical view of water coconut trees.
Visit a local coconut candy factory to learn how to make traditional coconut candy step by step and how honey is made in a beehive.
Stop at a quiet village and learn how to make a traditional sleeping mat with a local family business.
Have a fantastic lunch with a local host and relax on a hammock.
Return to the waterways, this time using a rowing sampan boat, for a tranquil trip along the picturesque canals.
Depart for Can Tho late in the same afternoon.
Have dinner and leisure time overnight at Can Tho (self-sufficient expenses).
Day 02 | Can Tho – Ho Chi Minh
Go to Cai Rangfloating market — the must-go place in Can Tho. You can immerse yourself in the floating culture of the Mekong Delta.
Have breakfast and coffee on the boat while hearing essential information about the history, cultural values, bustling trading scenes, and amazing people there.
Visit the local noodle factory (a family business) to see how to make rice noodles in the traditional way, demonstrated step by step. Then, enjoy a special crispy “noodle pizza”.
Visit Binh Thuy ancient house. This house has a nice blend of Asian and Western architectural styles to reflect Mekong’s life.
Explore a unique floating fish farm. You can see many rare and typical fish on the Mekong River here. You can drop your feet into the water for Koi fish to massage them and have beautiful photos taken with them.
Go trekking around Son Islet.
Go to the tropical fruit garden and enjoy some seasonal fruit right in the garden.
Experience making traditional Southern folk cakes.
Coming from another family on the Son Islet, you will be satisfied with the performance of “Flying Snakehead” only in Vietnam. Do not forget to pick up the camera to take photos or shoot beautiful videos of the Con Son flying snakeheads here.
Try crossing “the monkey bridge” with a lot of “fear” and fun.
Taste herbal drinks and have lunch at the local house.
